On January 20, 2017, the controversial candidate Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States of America. Throughout his nearly year-long campaign Trump made incendiary comments including, "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best... They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people" and a recording of a conversation with Billy Bush in which he said "I'm automatically attracted to beautiful [women]—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."
As a reaction to his election, a women lead movement created the March on Washington on January 21. As global interest soared in the march, sister marches and rallies were hosted in cities and countries spanning the world, including one in Albuquerque, NM.
All of these photos were taken from the sister rally in Albuquerque. The rally began with a blessing from Native American women and throughout the day the message of strength through intersectional feminist unity permeated the speakers and presenter.
